Welcome to the Cheektowaga Police Department's Business Community page specifically dedicated to the safety of business owners in the Town of Cheektowaga. This page contains safety tips specifically for businesses.

Upon request, officers from the Crime Resistance Unit will provide to business owners “Employee Safety” Presentations; stressing the “Do’s and Don’ts” in hostile or threatening situations. (i.e. unruly customers, shoplifters, robberies)

CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) Presentations are made available to the Business Community. These presentations feature the positive aspects of lighting, landscaping, surveillance, and natural access control in a business location environment.

When warranted, members of the Crime Resistance Unit interact directly with the Business Community. This interaction is in response to recent incidents and trends which might have an impact on their establishment; contact is made either in person or on the phone. Recently there was a spike in prescription medication thefts, the CRU made a concerted effort to contact area Veterinary Hospitals, Dental Offices and Pharmacies alerting them to this problem and precautionary prevention measures they should employ.
