How to report street lights not working

The Town of Cheektowaga is serviced by two electric utility providers.  Both providers maintain the town’s street lights in coordination with the Highway Department.  In order to resolve complaints about street light outages or malfunctions in a timelier manner, residents are asked to directly contact the electric utility provider for their area.  Complaints can be entered via phone or by submitting an online complaint form.

The utility company will contact the Town if further action is required by our Highway Department.  If the utility company does not address your concern in a timely manner, please contact the New York State Public Service Commission by phone or email.  The Public Service Commission is the regulatory agency overseeing all utility providers in New York State.
