   TREE PLANTING
 
 

   New trees are planted (in the Town's Right-of-Way) in late September or early October of each year.

      The type of tree that is planted is determined by the trees that already exist on the street/area.
  • Requesting a Dead Tree Removal?
    • The Highway Department can only remove a Town tree which is in the Town's Right-of-Way
      • If the tree is in the Town's Right-of-Way, call the Town's Highway Department at 686-3450
  • Requesting a Tree Removal Because of Sewer Problems?
    • The Highway Department can only remove a Town tree which is in the Town's Right-of-Way
      • Copies of past or present sewer/plumber bills need to be sent to the Housing Department (275 Alexander Ave, Cheektowaga, NY 14211)
      • The Housing Department will then give the Highway Department approval to take down the tree
      • The Highway Department will make two trips to your home in order to remove the tree.  One trip for the trunk/branches and the next trip for the stump
      • The Highway Department will also take care of re-seeding the area after the tree is removed (depending on soil availability)
      • A new tree will be planted in the Town's Right-of-Way one-year after the previous tree is removed

Trees are limited in number and are on a first come first serve bases.  Not all requests can be filled.
